Private Trader
A private trader ( ‘toiminimiyrittäjä’, ‘toiminimi’, ‘t:mi’ in Finnish), is a person who operates business on his own. Usually it refers to digital nomads or freelancers or consultants. If you decide to operate as a Private Trader in Finland you need to make a registration in the Finnish Trade register.

You can file your notification online using the online service, if you are
  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • you have a Finnish personal identity code; and
  • you have your own personal internet banking codes or a mobile certificate or an electronic identity card.

You will need to provide the following information
  • Personal details of the trader;
  • Your proposal for the company name, and the two alternatives names;
  • Address and contact details of the company;
  • Business lane.
