Family ties

In Finland, residency based on family ties means A type of residency with full rights in county
1. Right for living
2. Right for work & study
3. Right for free medicine
4. Right for free education for kids including university
5. Right for social security & grants

Family members are considered

• Spouse of the Finnish citizen, spouse EU citizen or Spouse of the person with resident permit in Finland
• Kids under 18

There are exceptions for other family members like parents or kids above 18 if there is a certain evidence that these members can not live alone.

How to apply?

• Prepare the documents
• Apply in the local Finnish embassy or Migration department in Finland
• Get your first card of A type of residency with full package of rights in the country

The processing times 14 days- 6 months depending on the program.
