Spain is keen to attract international talent and skills in the digital and technological sectors. To this end, the government has approved a new draft law in December 2022 with several purposes. They include:
·Facilitating paperwork for startups.
·Reducing the tax burden on companies and entrepreneurs.
·Streamlining the process to set up a business.
·Introducing a digital nomad visa.

What it is “A DIGITAL NOMAD” Permit?
•This visa is designed for non-resident individuals who wish to work remotely from Spain. It will facilitate the visa and residence permit applications, the first residency is granted for 3 years with ability to prolong up to 5, for the permanent residency.
•This residency is for people who work fully remote e.g. IT specialists, digital entrepreneurs, freelancers, marketing specialists, finance consultants, online business owners.

To apply for permit The following requirements must be met

1. Minimum Income Requirements €2500 per month for a single adult
2. That the work can be carried out remotely.

• If you are under contract to a company, that they have had a professional relationship with the company for at least three months and that the company permits remote working.
• If you are freelance, that they work with at least one company outside Spain and provide the terms and conditions of the remote work.
• If you are an entrepreneur, your company license and explanation of the work

3. You have assets of 25,000 euros on your bank account
4. You have private medical insurance
5. You have place of registration in Spain
